About the Mission:

The family of Mr. John Paul Roides has invited the PGR to participate in military services at the cemetery. Mr. Roides passed away June 07, 2002.

Mr. Roides was a US Army veteran and served in Vietnam as a Specialist 4 (SP4, E-4 salary grade). Mr. Roides served 22 months of active duty 20 January, 1966 through 25 October, 1967. Mr. Roides served 13 of those months on foreign duty in South Vietnam. He served in the 720th Military Police (MP) Battalion, 18th MP Brigade with an MOS of 36K, Field Wireman.

Mr. Roides completed his reserve obligation 19 June, 1972.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:
Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information: PGR members will stage at the entrance to White Haven Memorial Park.  The cortege is expected to arrive at between 1:30 pm and 1:45 pm for the 2:00 pm graveside service.  Upon the arrival of the cortege at the front gate, PGR members will escort the procession to the gravesite within the cemetery.  At the gravesite, PGR members will participate in the dignified transfer, render honors during services with the military honor guard, and execute a final salute following services.

Please come prepared with: a clean 3'x5' American or US Army flag, water, and weather appropriate clothing.
