About the Mission:

The family of John H. Schlessing has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  John passed away on November 27, 2023 at age 82.

A graduate of Avon High School, John entered the US Air Force in 1960, and was trained as a Security Policeman.  His assignments included Goodfellow AFB, Texas, the 3918th Air Police Squadron, Upper Heyford Air Force Base in England and a tour of duty at Bien Hoa Air Base in South Vietnam. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant and  received several awards including a Bronze Star. We will stand for calling hours and military service.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Please arrive by 12:30pm. Calling hours start at 1:00pm, with military honors conducted at 1:45. Funeral service starts at 2:00pm
