About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam Veteran Donald Ray "Julio" Miller of Clarence, NY has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Miller passed away on 28 April 2023.
Mr. Miller served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1967-1969, with an Army MOS of 76X20-Subsistence Supply Specialist. He served 12 months in Vietnam, assigned to 2nd Battalion, 67th Armor, 2nd Armored Division, and he was wounded (date TBD) in action against the enemy. Mr. Miller was honorably discharged from active duty on 25 July 1969 with the rank of Specialist Four, and he earned the following awards: Purple Heart Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver Service Star (6 Awards); Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; M-60 Machine Gun Marksman Badge; and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand by with a respectful flag line for arrival of the hearse and Mr. Miller. KSU at 12:35 PM for the escort to the WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Rd, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 1:00 PM interment ceremony with Military Honors.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
