About the Mission  - UPDATED

The family of Mr. Donald J. Gambell has requested that the PGR help honor his service to us all and celebrate his life.

Mr. Gambell's served in the Navy and Navy Reserves for five years and eleven months. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (PO2, E-5), with a rating of DC2, Damage Controlman Second Class. During his active duty time in the Navy, he served one year, and three months of sea duty aboard USS Brownson (DD868), a Gearing-class destroyer.

Mr. Gambell earned: National Defense Service Medal.

He then joined the US Army Reserves and retired from there as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO, W3). His retirement date, 09 August 2006, marked the end of a career spanning thirty years and one month of service. Of that time, Warrant Officer Gamble spent five years on active duty, the Navy and Naval Reserve, and twenty-five years and one month in the Army Reserves.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR members will form a respectful flag line for the arrival of guests at Mr. Gamble's celebration of life. At approximately 4:45 pm, we will participate in the services, including military honors. Following those services, we will dismiss.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor US Navy Veteran (Retired), Chief Warrant Officer Three, Donald J. Gamble’s service to us all, and to support his loving family.
