About the Mission:
The family of Charles L. Sage has requested that PGR attend his calling hours and services. Charles, 86, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday (Nov. 11, 2022) at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia.
Mr. Sage was a US Army veteran who served two years (1958-60) during the Cold War. He achieved the rank of Specialist Fourth Class (Technical) (SP-4(T)) with an MOS of 642.10, Heavy Vehicle Driver. Mr. Sage served in the Headquarters Battery, 3rd Automatic Weapons Battalion, 62nd Artillery at Fort Bliss, Texas. Mr. Sage earned: Good Conduct Medal, Cold War Service Medal, and Expert Weapons Qualification Badge.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR Members will form a flag line for the arrival of the family (expected about 9:30am) and mourners at the funeral home. The flag line will continue through calling hours (10 am-12 noon). Services will follow calling hours and are expected to last 30-45 minutes. Following the services at the funeral home, PGR members will escort Mr. Sage and the mourners to the cemetery for graveside services and military honors.
If you cannot make it to calling hours or the services, please consider meeting us at the North Pembroke Cemetery, 8021 N. Pembroke Rd, Batavia, NY 14020. Stage at the cemetery at 12:30pm, creating a flag line for the arrival of the cortege. Services are expected to start between 12:45pm and 1:00pm.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather. The current forecast calls for low to mid-thirties and a chance of precipitation.
