About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Carl R. Burger of East Aurora, NY, who passed away on 24 June 2022.
Mr. Burger served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1969-1973, with an MOS of 6054-Aircraft Hydraulic/Pneumatic Mechanic. In addition to stateside service in Memphis, Cherry Point, San Francisco and Quantico, Mr. Burger had 18 months of foreign service, including duty in Vietnam. Mr. Burger was honorably discharged from active duty on 7 September 1973 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and he earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
There is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.
PGR will stand a respectful flag line for the visitation hours from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, and dress for the weather.
