About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Carl G. Kopp of East Aurora, NY, who passed away on 16 April 2023.

Mr. Kopp served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1952-1954, including 16 months of foreign service in the Republic of Korea. Assigned to the 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Mr. Kopp received multiple wounds in action against the enemy on 10 July 1953. Mr. Kopp was honorably discharged from active duty on 29 September 1954 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he received the following awards: Purple Heart Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze Campaign Star; United Nations Service Medal (Korea); and Korean War Service Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

NOTE: The family will conduct a private burial of Mr. Kopp before the Mission begins.  PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. Calling hours are from 2:00-3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service and military honors at 3:00 PM. There is no escort involved in this Mission. Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
