About the Mission:

The family of Barry A. Russell of Irving, NY has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand in honor of his life and service. Mr. Russell passed away on 6 September 2022.

Mr. Russell served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Navy from 1966-1969, with a Naval Rating of Engineman (EN.) He had over 2-1/2 years of sea service aboard the USS Holland (AS-32), a Hunley-class Submarine Tender. Mr. Russell was honorably discharged from active duty on 23 December 1969 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Cold War Service Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM.  Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to St. Matthew's Cemetery, 180 French Road, West Seneca, NY 14224 for burial with Military Honors.  Click here for map
