About the Mission:

The staff at Western New York National Cemetery has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in unaccompanied Army Veteran James L. Walden military honors funeral services. Mr. Walden passed 15 December 2025 at the age of 83.

Mr. Walden entered the U.S Army on 1 October 1970 and trained as a Light Weapons Infantryman at Fort Polk Louisiana Joint Readiness Training Center during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Walden served his nation for 18 months of active duty, including 10 months foreign/ Sea Service. He was honorably discharged on 16 May 1972 at US Army Personnel Center, Oakland, California. For his service he was awarded, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Infantryman Badge, Expert Rifleman Badge (M-16).
