About the Mission:

We have been invited to escort 7 veterans from the Pittsford Park and Ride in East Rochester, to the NYS Thruway, as they travel to the Buffalo Airport to participate in Gary Sinise Foundations' Soaring Valor Program. The Soaring Valor Program transports World War II veterans and their guardians to New Orleans to tour The National WWII Museum built in their honor. Their experience includes entertainment, celebratory meals, and community building with their fellow heroes.  More Details to follow at the primary briefing, as they become available.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will form a flag line for the veterans 10:30 AM arrival.  KSU @ 1045 AM  The original request was just to escort to the NYS Thruway.  Anyone wishing to continue any or all the way to Buffalo is more than welcome to join me.  Any Region 1 riders wishing to join us, please contact me directly.

Members are encouraged to provide a respectful flag line at the Airport to await the arrival of the Veterans & their Guardians.  Please park in the Short-Term Lot, and proceed into the airport with your clean 3x5 American flag.

Thank you for taking time to help honor these WW-II Veterans as they prepare to depart for their amazing journey to New Orleans.
