About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of William W. Greene of Conesus, NY, who passed away on 25 December 2022 at the age of 97.
Mr. Greene served our nation for 2-1/2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1943-1946, with an Army MOS of 861-Surgical Technician. He had 18 months of sea service in the Pacific Theater of Operations, assigned to the Ships Complement aboard the US Army Transport Ship "Tabinta", and he was involved in the following campaigns: Bismark Archipelago, Luzon, Ryukyus, and Southern Philippines. Mr. Greene assisted in minor and major surgical operations and performed several minor operations in an emergency in support of our troops.
Mr. Greene was honorably discharged from active duty on 23 January 1946 with the rank of Corporal. He earned the following awards: Army Good Conduct Medal; American Campaign Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/3 Campaign Stars; Philippine Liberation Medal; and WW-II Victory Medal.
Mr. Greene served the Conesus community in many ways throughout his life. He was a 79-year Lifetime member of the Conesus Fire Department, serving as a past Chief and longtime Fire Commissioner. Mr. Greene was a Lifetime member and past Commander of the Conlon-Mulvaney American Legion Post No. 1779 in Conesus. In memory and honor of his son, Mr. Greene established and helped maintain the Town of Conesus Ricky Greene Memorial Park.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand by in preparation for joining the Fire Department for the procession to the Arnold Cemetery, Elm Street, Conesus, for interment with Military Honors. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather. Large flags on your vehicle are encouraged and will be appreciated.
