About the Mission:

The family of William J. Reuman of Marilla, NY has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Reuman tragically lost his life in an auto accident on 27 May 2023.

Mr. Reuman served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Artillery Branch from 1958-1960, with an Army MOS of 631.10-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. His final duty assignment was with 1st Missile Battalion, 84th Artillery Regiment at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Mr. Reuman was honorably discharged from active duty on 12 February 1960 with the rank of Specialist Four (E-4), and he earned the Army Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Marksman Qualification Badge.

Mr. Reuman had a stellar 54-year career as a volunteer firefighter with the Marilla, NY Fire Company. His positions included Past Assistant Chief, member of the Board of Directors and Vigilance Committee, and Company Safety Officer. Mr. Reuman was a member of the Erie County Fire Chiefs Assoc.; NYS Assoc. of Fire Chiefs; and the Firefighters Assoc. of the State of New York.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Much thanks to PGR member Don Trzepacz, Jr. for stepping up to lead this Mission. Don is a friend of the family, and was on duty when Mr. Reuman suffered his auto accident.

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends. The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide and escort to Marilla Cemetery, Two Rod Road, Marilla, NY 14102 for burial with Military and Fire Department Honors.  Click here for map

A large Fire Department presence is expected for this Mission.  Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army or Firefighter flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
