About the Mission:
The family of Vernon Alton Trimble has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Vernon passed19 December 2024 at the age of 79 with his family by his side.
Vernon entered the Army on 10 May 1966 and served our nation for 24 months, with 12 months in Vietnam with the 1st Army Division as a Personnel Manager Specialist (71H30). He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 5th Class at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on 9 May 1968, with reserve obligations ending 9 May 1972. For his service, Vernon was awarded; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.
After his military service, Vernon worked at Bird's Eye Foods, retiring after 29 years, then worked on his family farm.
