About the Mission: | The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Technical Sergeant Christopher Lance Reed - USAF/ANG (Retired) - who passed away on 19 April 2022. TSgt Reed served our nation for a total 23-1/2 years of active and active reserve duty from 1992- 2015, with two Air Force Specialties: 2A672-Aerospace Ground Equipment Craftsman and 8F000-First Sergeant. TSgt Reed had multiple deployments, and he was honorably retired from the 107th Air Wing in Niagara Falls on 4 August 2015, and he earned the following awards during his military career: Air Force Commendation Medal; Air Force Achievement Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Meritorious Unit Award w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); Air Force Good Conduct Medal; Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal w/1 Silver & 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters (7 Awards); National Defense Service Medal w/2 Service Stars (2 Awards); Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Southwest Asia Service Medal w/2 Service Stars (3 Awards); Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/1 Service Star (2 Awards); Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); Air Force Overseas Ribbon-Short Tour; Air Force Overseas Ribbon-Long Tour; Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon w/Gold Border w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters (4 Awards); Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters (4 Awards); Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/3 "M" Devices w/1 Hourglass Device; Air Force NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon w/1 Service Star (2 Awards); Air Force Training Ribbon; NATO Medal; Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia); Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait); New York Humane Service to NYS Medal. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: | PGR will assemble and stand by with a respectful flag line for arrival of the cortege from Amigone Funeral Home in Amherst, NY. KSU at approx. 10:15 am for the escort to the WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY for the 11:00 am Interment with Military Honors. Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USAF flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached for the 12-mile escort. Thank you for devoting some time to help honor the USAF/ANG career of TSgt Christopher Lance Reed, and to support his loving and grieving family. |
