About the Mission:

The family of Cold War and Vietnam War Era veteran Terry Jon Krause has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and military service. Mr. Krause passed away on 5 May 2024.

Mr. Krause served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Navy from 1960-1964, with a Naval rating of Aviation Electronics Technician Radar (ATR). He had 2 years, 9 months of sea service, assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Nine (HS-9, "Sea Griffins") which was part of Antisubmarine Air Group 60 (CVSG-60), operating from the deck of the USS Essex (CVS-9) in the Atlantic & Mediterranean Sea. Activity during this period included numerous antisubmarine and surface ship surveillance missions in support of the quarantine of Cuba.

Mr. Krause was honorably discharged from active duty on 28 August 1964 with the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5), and he earned the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Cold War Service Commemorative Medal.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT arrive any earlier than 10:15 AM, in case there is another funeral prior to this one.  We will proceed to the funeral shelter when instructed, for the 11:00 AM service and Military Honors.  Please ensure you have a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather.
