About the Mission:

The family of Stephen Lacki has requested that Patriot Guard Riders stand a flag line for their fallen hero.  Stephen, 91, died March 8, 2024 in Elderwood at Bassett Park.

Born in Buffalo, NY, Stephen was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, as well as the National Guard.  He served his country in Korea from May 26 1950, to May 10 1952. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class and for his service, earned the following ribbins and awards; Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Republic Of Korea War Service Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge.  Stephen had received many medals and trophies for being a Sharp-shooter in military competitions.

Stephen was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, the VFW and had written many articles for various military magazines. He spoke 5 languages and after the war, became active in the Big Brother program.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Stage at the Alden Community Church, form a respectful flag line for arrival of family and guests. Dress for the weather and make sure your flags are secure for the escort to the cemetery. After church services PGR will escort to Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 6843 Tonawanda Creek Road Lockport NY.
