About the Mission:
The family of Francis J. Sygnatur ("Sarge") has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Sygnatur of Cheektowaga, NY passed away on 9 April 2023.
Mr. Sygnatur first served for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Armor Branch from 1968-1970, with an Army MOS of 11D20-Armor Recon Specialist. During that period he had 8 months of foreign service in Korea, assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Mr. Sygnatur was honorably discharged from active duty on 9 March 1970 with the rank of Specialist Four (E-4.)
Mr. Sygnatur went on to serve for 30 years in the US Army Reserve (period TBD), until his retirement in 2007 with the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC) (E-7.) During his Army/Army Reserve career, Mr. Sygnatur earned the following awards: Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters (4 Awards); Army Good Conduct Medal; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal w/4 Oak Leaf Clusters (5 Awards); National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star (2 Awards); Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Korean Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/1 Gold Hourglass Device (30Years); NCO Professional Development Ribbon w/Numeral "3"; Army Service Ribbon; and Army Overseas Service Ribbon.
Mr. Sygnatur was a member of the Francis J. Donovan American Legion Post 1626 in Cheektowaga, NY, and was a participant in that organization's Honor Guard.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
It is undetermined at this time whether the family will meet at the staging area. KSU at 09:35 AM to proceed to the WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Rd, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 10:00 AM interment ceremony and Military Honors.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
