About the Mission:
The family of US Navy Veteran Richard B. Wood, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Wood passed 13 March 2025 at the age of 55 with his family at his side.
Richard entered the US Navy on 6 July 1987 and was assigned to The USS Lynde McCormick (DD- 958) a Charles F. Adams class destroyer, during Operation Praying Mantis in April 1988 in the Persian Gulf. He was honorably discharged at Navy Station, San DiegoCalifornia as Petty Officer Third Class on 27 July 1990. For his service to his nation Petty Officer Richard B. Wood Jr. was awarded: Combat Action Ribbon, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/Bronze Star.

Special Information:
Members will stand flag line for arriving family. After dignified transfer, members will process to Western New York National Cemetery for interment with military honors. Honors are at 11:00 am. Do what you can to support our hero and his loving family.
