About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam War Veteran Ronald P. Domon has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Domon of Holland, NY, passed away on 15 July 2023.
Mr. Domon served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Armor Branch from 1966-1968, with an Army MOS of 11E20-Armor Crewman. He had 9 months of duty in South Vietnam, assigned to 1st Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment (1/69), 4th Infantry Division. Mr. Domon was honorably discharged from active duty on 12 October 1968 with the rank of Specialist Five (E-5), and he earned the following awards: Army Commendation Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; 1 Overseas Bar; and M-16 Rifle Expert Qualification Badge.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and during the visitation hours from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Following the dignified transfer, PGR will escort to Holland Cemetery, West side of Rt.16, next to the Middle School, Holland, NY 14080 for burial with Military Honors.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Army Vietnam War service of Ronald P. Domon, and to support his loving family.
NOTE: The requester - Veteran Domon's son Shawn - is the son-in-law of our long time, dedicated PGRNY member, Lois Weber.
