About the Mission:

The family of Ronald L. Coan has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Coan, formerly of Jamestown, NY passed away on 14 July 2023.

Mr. Coan served our nation for 3 years on active duty in the US Army Armor Branch from 1960-1963, with an Army MOS of 131.00-Armor Crewman. He had over 2-1/2 years of foreign service in Germany, including assignment to Bravo Company, 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 32nd Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, Seventh US Army. Mr. Coan was honorably discharged from active duty on 21 October 1963 with the rank of Private (E-2), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal and weapons qualification badges for rifle and pistol.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family, and during the visitation hours from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. The memorial service and military honors is scheduled for 12:00 PM.

At the request of the family, following the memorial service, PGR will provide an escort to Lakeview Cemetery (new Veteran part).
