About the Mission:
The family of Roger H. Hausauer has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Roger passed on 4 January 2025 at the age of 77 with family by his side.
Mr. Hausauer entered the Marine Corps on 11 May 1966 as Radio Telegraph Operator. He served his nation for 30 months on active duty, including 20 months in Vietnam with the 1st Recon Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Corporal Roger H. Hausauer was honorably discharged at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, (Santa Ana) California, on 9 December 1968 with reserve obligations ending 4 April 1972. For his service he was awarded; Purple Heart Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device.
After Rogers' military service, he worked for Verizon as an IT Engineer for 35 years and volunteered for Pine Hill Fire Dept., Cheektowaga, NY.
