About the Mission:
The family of Roger C. Weiss has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his extraordinary life and service. Mr. Weiss passed away on 15 April 2023.
You are encouraged to read the extensive obituary about Roger Weiss and his involvement in local high school and college sports, as well as many local organizations.
Mr. Weiss served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1967-1969, with an Army MOS of 13D20- Field Artillery Rocket Crewman. He had 12 months of foreign service in Germany, assigned to the 24th US Army Missile Detachment, 512th U.S. Army Field Artillery Group, 59th Ordnance Brigade. Mr. Weiss was honorably discharged from active duty on 15 February 1969 with the rank of Specialist Five (E-5), and he earned the Army Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stage at the funeral home in preparation for escorting Lakeside MFH's motorcycle hearse to Lakeside Cemetery for the graveside service with military honors.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
