About the Mission:
Born and raised on Prospect Street in the 11th ward, Rocky attended Saint Lucy’s School and Madison HS. During the Depression, he joined the Civil Conservation Corps and when WW II began, he enlisted in the US Army, becoming a member of the 69th Signal Battalion. He landed in England and was transported to Normandy, France by boat. The War took him through Northern France and Germany, where he participated in liberating the Dachau Concentration Camp.
Rocky was a proud WWII D-Day II survivor. He was awarded the Bronze star for courage and fortitude. In 2013 he was awarded the Insignia of Chevailer of the Legion of Honor by the President of the French Republic. Losing his hearing during the war he was classified as a disabled Vet.

Special Information:
Members will stand a flag line meeting family and friends for a 10 o’clock service. We will participate in a dignified transfer from the hearse to church and, approximately one hour later, we will have a dignified transfer from church to hearse and proceed to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where we will participate in the military honors funeral services.
