About the Mission:

The family of Cold War Veteran Robert J. Alfieri has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Alfieri of Hamburg, NY passed away on 25 October 2023.

Mr. Alfieri served our nation for over 2 years on active duty in the US Army Signal Corps from 1960-1962, with an Army MOS of 050.07-Low Speed Radio Operator. He was a proud 82nd Airborne Veteran, assigned to the Field Operations Company, 50th Signal Battalion (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC. Mr. Alfieri received his honorable discharge from active duty on 12 April 1962 with the rank of Private First Class (E-3), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Army Parachutist Badge and Cold War Service Commemorative Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, followed by the dignified transfer and escort to Hillcrest Cemetery, 5223 Abbott Road, Hamburg, NY 14075 for burial with military honors.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached. Thank you for taking time to help honor the US Army service of Robert J. Alfieri, and to support his loving family.
