About the Mission:
The family of Robert Glen Catherwood of Hamburg, NY has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in honoring his life and service. Mr. Catherwood passed away on 23 January 2023.
Mr. Catherwood served our nation for almost 3 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1968-1971, with a Marine Corps MOS of 0311-Rifleman. He served a 12-month combat deployment to South Vietnam, and his final duty assignment was with Company A, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force at Camp Lejeune, NC. Mr. Catherwood was honorably discharged from active duty on 20 May 1971 with the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3), and he earned the following awards: USMC Combat Action Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand with a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and guests as they arrive for the 10:00 AM funeral service. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will escort to Woodlawn Cemetery, 4443 South Buffalo St. (Rt. 240), Orchard Park, NY 14127 for burial with Military Honors.
