About the Mission:

The family of Robert F. Richter has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in honoring his life and service to our Nation.  Mr. Richter was born in Buffalo, NY and passed away on March 27, 2024.

Mr. Richter served his country for 4 years, 1963 to 1967 in the US Navy. He was assigned to the USS Turner (DD/DDR-834), a Gearing-class destroyer, as a Radarman. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer (E-5), and for his service was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (The Third Dominican Republic Civil War) and National Defense Service Medal.

For those wishing to attend, there will be a viewing on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Lakeside Funeral Home from 4-8pm.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

The family would like PGR to be present for morning prayers at Lakeside Funeral Home followed by a dignified transfer.  Prayer service will begin at 9:15 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Church, 4263 St. Frances Drive, Hamburg NY at 10:00 am.  Military honors will be at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 am, 4810 Camp Road, Hamburg NY 14075.  Please be prepared with a clean flag and dress for the weather.
