About the Mission:

The family of Raymond Gant of Buffalo, NY has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Gant passed away on 20 March 2023.

Mr. Gant served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Transportation Corps from 1950-1952, including 17 months stationed in Germany assigned to the 68th Transportation Heavy Truck Company. Mr. Gant was honorably discharged from active duty on 23 September 1952 with the rank of Corporal, and he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Army of Occupation Medal (Germany.)

Mr. Gant was a Past Commander of the Jesse Clipper American Legion Post #430 in Buffalo.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. Calling hours will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.  Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will escort to Forest Lawn Cemetery, Field of Valor for interment with Military Honors. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.

Please Note: This Mission overlaps with the Vietnam Veterans Commemoration Ceremony at the WNY National Cemetery. Please do your best to ensure both Missions have sufficient coverage.
