About the Mission:
The family of US Navy career veteran Philip A. Collins has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. A veteran of the Vietnam War Era & Gulf War Era, Mr. Collins passed away on 1 March 2024.
Mr. Collins served our nation for over 20 years on active duty in the US Navy from 1974-1994, with a Naval Rating of CTM (Cryptologic Technician-Maintenance.) Full military service information is incomplete at this time. But we know that Mr. Collins had a total of over 14 years of foreign and sea service, including deployments to Spain and Italy. Mr. Collins received his honorable retirement in 1994, and he achieved the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class (PO1) (E-6.) PO1 Collins earned the following awards: Navy Achievement Medal; Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon (2 Awards); Navy Good Conduct Medal (5 Awards); National Defense Service Medal (2 Awards); Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; Navy-Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (11 Awards); and Navy Expert Badge for Pistol.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
NOTE: The service will take place in the chapel, at the entrance to the cemetery.
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The graveside service w/military honors is scheduled for 9:00 AM. There is no escort involved in this Mission
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Naval career of Philip A. Collins, and to support his loving family.
