About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam Veteran Neil Derisley has requested Patriot Guard Riders in his final ride home. Neil passed 23 August 2024 with family at his side at the age of 78.

Neil was born 30 October 1945 in Albion, NY.  He entered the US Army at the age of 20 and served our nation honorably almost 18 months in Vietnam as a Communications Equipment Operator. For his service Neil was awarded Meritorious Unit Citation Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After his service, Neil worked for Rochester Telephone as Cable Repairman for 35 years. After his retirement, Neil moved to Georgia to work in agriculture. Georgia RC Brendan McNair will be escorting the family with Neil Dersiley remains all the way to Kent, NY.

The CDC has changed its COVID-19 protocol recommendations for 2024, updating them to reflect the changing severity and transmission of the virus. Please click here for the latest information and continue to practice common sense distancing protocols while in enclosed locations.


Special Information:

Members should make sure they're gassed up for the trip to Ripley, NY, Loves Travel Stop, to meet the cortege from Georgia at approximately 12:15pm. After the safety meeting, KSU at 9:45am to process to Ripley on Rt. 90.

Second Stage - Special Information:

Love's Travel Stop; Members will gas up for the last leg of Neil Derisley's last ride home. After arrival of the family members, we will have a safety meeting. KSU 12:45 pm to process to Kent, NY Lighthouse (approximately 130 miles).
