About the Mission:

The family of Master Sergeant David L. Bell has requested that Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his service and celebrating his life. Mr. Bell passed August 18, 2023.

MSgt Bell served twenty-one years in the US Marine Corps, with five years spent in Vietnam. In that time, MSgt Bell earned: Marine Corps Commendation w/ "V" Device (Valor), Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal w/ Bronze Star (2 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ Three Bronze Campaign Stars (3 campaigns), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ Palm Frond, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ '60 Device, US Marine Corps Expert Rifle Qualification Badge, US Marine Corps Sharpshooter Qualification Badge, Pistol.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR members will form a flag line for the arrival of the family at the funeral home, expected at 1:30pm, and will continue the flag line through the calling hours which are expected to end at 4:00pm. Please come prepared with a clean US or Marine Corps flag. Dress for the weather, current forecast calls for temperatures in the low 70s and sun. Bring your own water as none will be supplied.

Second Stage - Special Information:

PGR members will form a flag line at the funeral home for the arrival of the family, expected at 10:15am, and will continue the flag line for arriving mourners until the start of services, expected at 11:00am. Following services, PGR members will perform a dignified transfer and escort the cortege to the Moose Lodge in Canandaigua for a celebration of life.  At the Moose Lodge PGR members will perform a dignified transfer.
The mission will be dismissed once the dignified transfer is complete.

Please come prepared with a clean US or Marine Corps flag. Dress for the weather, current forecast calls for temperatures in the low 70s and sun. Bring your own water as none will be supplied.
