About the Mission:

An American Hero has passed, and his family requests Patriot Guard Riders to join in honoring his service. Airman First Class Morton Payne served in the US Air Force from1956-1960, and later served in the United States Army National Guard from 1976-1996

In his younger years, Mort worked part time at Hunts Market in Avoca and for 30 years served as a driver for United Parcel Service (UPS) until his retirement in 1995.  He was an active member of many fraternal and civic organizations, including the Avoca Fire & Ambulance, Arkport Fire & Ambulance, Hornell Elks Lodge, Arkport American Legion, Avoca American Legion, AMVETS Post in Ocala & Hornell, Hornell Association, Hornell Moose Lodge and Hornell Eagles.

Special Information:

A flag line will be established at the Dagon Funeral Home to honor the family and friends of Airman First Class Morton Payne upon their arrival. Please bring a US Air Force Flag, an American flag or US Army flag. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:pm. A funeral Service with military honors will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Additional information relative to Airman Payne's service will be posted as it becomes available.
