About the Mission:
The family of Michael Edward Schmidt has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mike passed on 5 March 2025 at the age of 74 with his family by his side.
Mike entered the US Army on 13 April 1970, serving his nation for 3 years active duty as a Armorer/ Supply Specialist (MOS- 76Y30), with 13 months in South Korea. Mike was honorably discharged at Fort Eustis, Virginia on 12 April 1973 with reserve obligation ending 26 January 1976. For his service, Mike was awarded; Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Expert Rifleman Badge (M- 16) and Sharpshooters Badge ( Hand Grenade ).
After his service, Mike worked and retired as a Pipefitter at Local Union 4, Buffalo, NY. Mike was a dedicated member of Patriot Guard Riders for over ten years.
