About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the very extensive military service of Lt Col William A. Gick, who passed away on 24 August 2024 at the age of 92.
Quoting from the Gilmartin Funeral Home obituary: "William spent his entire adult life in service to his country, the United States of America. On his 17th birthday, he joined the U.S. Air Force on active duty, and went on to serve as a Communications Specialist in Japan from 1949 to 1952. He then joined the Air Force Reserve in 1954, serving as Communications Specialist, 1st Sergeant and Superintendent until 1976 and then as Disaster Preparedness Manager for the Western District of NY until 1992. Upon his retirement from the Air Force Reserve, he joined the New York State Air National Guard, where he served until 2000, retiring as Lt Colonel and having served as the Commander of the 107th NYG Air Group at Niagara Falls, NY."

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family. A prayer service is scheduled for 9:30 AM. KSU at approx. 10:10 AM for the escort to WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY, 14036 for the 11:00 AM interment service and military honors.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Air Force flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
