About the Mission:
The family of Louis C. Newman has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his ife and service. Mr. Newman of Irving, NY passed away on 13 April 2023.
Mr. Newman served our nation for 3+ years on active duty in the US Navy from 1956-1959. The majority of his sea service was aboard the USS Cascade (AD-16), a Naval Destroyer Tender. During Mr. Newmans time in service, the USS Cascade tended the East Coast based destroyer squadrons. Mr. Newman was honorably discharged from active duty on 11 September 1959 with the rank of Seaman (SN) (E-3.)

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand by with a respectful flag line in preparation for the arrival of his family and friends. The graveside service and interment is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
NOTE: US Navy Military Honors were rendered at the funeral home on 16 April 2023.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather.
