About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam War Era Veteran Kip Eugene Garris has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Garris of Lockport/Middleport, NY passed away unexpectedly on 5 November 2023.
Mr. Garris was well-known in the area as the owner/auctioneer of Kip Garris Auction Service. He served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1974-1975, with an Army MOS of 63F1--Recovery Specialist. Mr. Garris had 19 months of foreign service in Germany, assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 4th Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment. Mr. Garris received his honorable discharge from active duty on 18 December 1975 with the rank of Specialist Four (E-4), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal and M-16 Rifle Expert Qualification Badge.
Mr. Garris was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Navy Marine Club in Gasport.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
This is a graveside service only, there is no escort involved in this Mission. PGR will stand by with a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and funeral director. The service with Military Honors is scheduled for 11:00 AM. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
