| About the Mission: | The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Joseph P. Sheehan of Elma, NY, who passed away on 20 May 2022. Mr. Sheehan served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1960-1964, with an MOS of 6422-Helicopter Mechanic (Reciprocating). His service included 12 months of foreign duty (location TBD), and his stateside service was with Marine Aircraft Group-26 (MAG-26) at Marine Corps Air Station, New River, NC. Mr. Sheehan was honorably discharged on 9 October 1964 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the USMC Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle & Pistol Marksman Badges. Updated 8 March 2022Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
| Special Information: | PGR will stand with a respectful flag line for arrival of the family. A prayer service is scheduled for 9:45 AM, followed by the dignified transfer and escort to Queen of Heaven RC Church, 4220 Seneca St, West Seneca, NY 14224 for the Mass of Christian Burial. Click here for map to church Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will escort to St. Adalbert's Cemetery, 6200 Broadway (Rt. 20), Lancaster, NY 14086 for burial with Military Honors. Click here for map to cemetery Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
