About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam War Combat Veteran John S. Bzibziak has requested Patriot Guard Riders presence to honor his life and service to our country. John, 74, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 19, 2023.
John served as a light weapons infantryman who in the US Army from 1967-1973, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal (E-4), and for his service, was awarded a Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat infantry Badge, Sharpshooter Badge w/M-14 Rifle, and a Marksman Badge w/.45 Cal. pistol.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand an honorable silent flagline for the family and guests. There will be a family-only time from 9:30-10:00 am, then a Celebration of Life at 10:00. After the service and an honorable transfer, PGR will escort our hero and his family to Hillcrest Cemetery, 5223 Abbott Rd., Hamburg, New York (old section), for interment with military honors. Please arrive on time with an American or Army Flag.
