About the Mission:

The family of John "Rus" Thompson has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. John passed 7 March 2025 at the age of 69 with his family at his side.

John served his nation for 3 years active duty as a Line Cook at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was honorably discharged 5 March 1979, with reserve obligation concluded 4 March 1982.

After his military service, John and his wife owned and operated a small remodeling company on Grand Island, NY, and designed a small cement mixer that could attach to pick up trucks for home owners projects.

Special Information:

Members will stand flag line for arriving family and guests for Mass of Christian Burial. After mass and dignified transfer, members will process to Forest Lawn Cemetery for interment with military honors.
