About the Mission:

The family of John L. Bowman, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders escort from East Aurora, NY to Lawrenceville, PA.  Mr. Bowman passed on October 13. 2022 with his family by his side.

Born in Benton, PA on January 24, 1939, Mr. Bowman served our nation honorably with two tours of duty in Vietnam in the US Army, retiring on June 30, 1976, with 20 yrs of service to our nation. In February of 1991, he was recalled to service supporting our troops during Desert Storm. For his service to our nation SFC Bowman was awarded Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm, 4 Overseas Bars and Mechanic Drivers Badge. SFC John L. Bowman interment will take place on August 7, 2024 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Special Information:

Members will stage at the intersection of Rt 400 and 20A, near the bridge. This is about a two-hour escort to the PA line at Lawrenceville exit. KSU at 11 am. Make sure your flags are secure for highway speeds. We are going on 20A to 390 South to Rt 86, to Rt 99 exit at Lawrenceville, PA. Our hero will be at staging 10:45. The escort will be going through Mt. Morris around 12:00 noon if any other groups would like to participate. Be aware what's going on around you and be safe. Make sure your tanks are full.

Second Stage - Special Information:

We will stage in preparation to join the escort coming from East Aurora, NY.  Please have a 3x5 American or US Army flag available to provide a flag line for arrival of the contingent.  Please make sure you have a full tank of fuel, and ensure your large flags are very securely attached for the long escort to Lawrenceville, PA.
