About the Mission: | The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Jim R. Bromstead, who passed away on 27 May 2022. Mr. Bromstead served our nation for 3 years on active duty in the US Army Armor Branch from 1961-1964, with an MOS of 312.20-Armor Communication Specialist. The majority of his service was spent in West Germany, assigned to the 1st Provisional Armored Maintenance Detachment, Seventh US Army. Mr. Bromstead was honorably discharged from active duty on 11 February 1964 with the rank of Specialist 5th Class (E-5), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal and M-1 Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. Mr. Bromstead went on to serve a 33-year career with the Erie County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 1999 as a Detective. He was also a member of the VFW Post 5260 in Springville, NY. Updated 8 March 2022Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: |
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The calling hours are scheduled from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will escort to Marilla Cemetery, Two Rod Road, Marilla, NY 14102 for interment with Military Honors.
