About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of James Salvatore Ralph of Derby, NY, who passed away on 25 June 2022.

Mr. Ralph served our nation for almost 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1966-1968, with an Army MOS of 64B20-Truck Driver. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment (1/5) (Mechanized), 25th Infantry Division. Mr. Ralph was honorably discharged from active duty on 22 September 1968 with the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4), and he earned the following awards: Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and Army Driver Badge.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGRNY will stand with a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests.  The funeral service is scheduled for 9:00 AM.  Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort (approx. 17 miles) to St. Anthony's RC Cemetery, Route 5, Irving, NY for interment with Military Honors.  Click here for map

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached for the escort.
