About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam War veteran James Edward Wozniak has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Wozniak of Cheektowaga, NY passed away on 22 January 2024.
Mr. Wozniak served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1965-1967, with an Army MOS of 71H30-Personnel Management Specialist. He served in South Vietnam for 7 months, assigned to the 71st Transportation Battalion, 4th Transportation Command (Terminal C) at US Army Terminal Newport. Mr. Wozniak was honorably discharged from active duty on 30 March 1967 with the rank of Specialist Five (E-5), and he earned the following awards: Army Commendation Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; M-14 Rifle Sharpshooter Qualification Badge; and .45 Cal. Pistol Expert Qualification Badge.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends. The funeral service is scheduled for 9:00 AM, followed by the dignified transfer and escort to St. Matthews Cemetery, 180 Old French Road, West Seneca, NY 14224 for interment with military honors.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Army Vietnam War service of James Edward Wozniak, and to support his loving family.
