About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam War Veteran and career FBI Special Agent Harry W. Roberts, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his incredible life and service. Mr. Roberts, formerly of Burt, NY and lately of Worcester, Mass. passed away on 12 September 2023.
You are encouraged to read the full obituary to appreciate what Mr. Roberts did for our nation.
In brief, Mr. Roberts served over 3 years of active duty in the US Air Force from 1966-1969, with service in the Air National Guard before and after the active duty. As a pilot of A100C Super Sabre Fighters assigned to the 136th Tactical Fighter Squadron, he flew 256 combat missions during a 12-month deployment to South Vietnam, and survived an ejection from his aircraft into the South China Sea. Mr. Roberts was honorably discharged from active duty on 26 June 1969 with the rank of 1st Lieutenant (O-2), and he received the following awards: Distinguished Flying Cross; 13 Air Medals; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Air Force Pilot Badge; and Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon.
In addition to continued service in the Air National Guard and promotion to Captain (O-3), Mr. Roberts served as a Special Agent with the FBI in Buffalo for 27 years, including duty as their Aircraft Coordinator.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 AM. Following the Mass and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Elmwood Avenue, Tonawanda, NY 14217 for inurnment with military honors.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Air Force flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
