About the Mission:
The family of Mr. Harold W. McDonald has invited PGR New York to participate in honoring his service and celebrating his life. Mr. McDonald passed away 2023.10.11 at the age of seventy-seven.
Mr. McDonald served four years and six months (1964-1969) in the US Navy during the Vietnam War Era, including four years sea service. Mr. McDonald was honorably discharged from active duty 19 March 1969 and completed his reserve obligation 19 March 1970. Mr. McDonald held a CS3 (Culinary Specialist Third Class, E-4) rating and served aboard USS Amphion (AR-13), a repair ship, the lead ship of her class. CS3 McDonald earned: National Defense Service Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR members will stage at the entrance to the memorial park. Members will form a flag line for the arrival of the family and the hearse carrying Mr. McDonald (expected to arrive between 12:30pm and 12:40pm). PGR members will escort the cortege to the All Seasons Mausoleum. PGR members will form a flag line and perform a dignified transfer, and then participate in services (expected to begin at 1pm) including military honors. Following services, PGR members will provide a dignified transfer and render a final salute at Mr. McDonald's outdoor mausoleum niche.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag. Dress for the weather, the current forecast is for temperatures in the low 60s and a chance of showers. Please ensure your large flags are securely attached and bring your own water as none will be provided.
