About the Mission:
The family of Gary E. Payne has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his funeral service. Gary passed on May 2, 2024, at the age of 75.
Born in Buffalo, NY, at the age of 18, Gary served our country in the Army from 1967 to 1968. Our hero was sent to Vietnam in December of 1967 and returned home in January, 1968. For his actions in Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Members will form a respectful flag line for arrival of family and guest. The funeral service will be at 3 pm, followed by military honors. Do what you can to honor for our hero.
