About the Mission: | The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Franklin D. Bailey, who passed away on 2 June 2022. We continue to sort through multiple pages of military service documents for Mr. Bailey, but it appears he served our nation for a total of 36 years in the US Air Force, US Army, US Army Reserve and NY Army National Guard during the period 1957 - 1998, with final retirement from the NYARNG on 7 June 1998 with the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7.) Mr. Bailey's Air Force Specialty was 43151C-Jet Aircraft Mechanic, and his Army MOS was 12B40-Combat Engineer. During his extensive service, SFC Bailey earned the following awards: Air Force Good Conduct Medal (2 Awards); Air Force Longevity Service Award (2 Awards); Army Commendation Medal (2 Awards); National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; NYS Aid to Civil Authority Award; and NYS Medal for Humane Service. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: | PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM. Following the Mass and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd, Buffalo, NY 14225 for interment with Military Honors.
