About the Mission:

The family of Ernest C. "Ernie" Ribbeck has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Ribbeck of Medina, NY passed away on 25 July 2023.

Mr. Ribbeck served our nation for almost 2 years on active duty in the US Army Ordnance Corps from 1969-1971, with an Army MOS of 55B20-Ammuniction Storage Specialist. He served an 11 month deployment to South Vietnam from June 1970-June 1971, assigned to the 304th Supply & Service Company. Mr. Ribbeck was honorably discharged from active duty on 7 June 1971 with the rank of Specialist Four (E-4), and he earned the following awards: National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; 1 Overseas Service Bar; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and Army M-14 Rifle Expert Badge.

Per the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home obituary: "Ernie was a member and Past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lincoln Post 1483, a member of Butts-Clark Post 204 American Legion, and an over 50-year member and past President of the Jr. Wilson Sportsmen’s Club..."

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends. The memorial service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort (1.5 miles) to St. Mary's Cemetery, 3603 North Gravel Road, Medina, NY 14103 for burial with Military Honors.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for making time to help honor the US Army Vietnam War service of Ernest C. "Ernie" Ribbeck, Sr., and to support his loving and grieving family.
