About the Mission:

The family of US Army Veteran Elwin J. Simons has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Simons passed on 1 November 2025 at the age of 91.

After graduating from high school in Canisteo, NY, Mr. Simons entered the Army on 8 November 1954 where he was trained as a Light Weapons Specialist, Parachutist.  He was attached to the 82nd Airborne, Company F, 505th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving 2 years active duty. Specialist 3rd Class (T) Simons was honorably discharged on 7 November 1956 at Fort Bragg.

After his military service, Mr. Simons worked at New York State Electric and Gas, retiring in 1990 after 33 years as Line Foreman.

Special Information:

PGR members will stand a flag line for arriving family. Military honors we be conducted at 10 am, requested by family. There is no cemetery or visitation. Do what you can to support Mr. Simons and his loving family.
