About the Mission:

The family of Edward W. Serwon has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Serwon passed 7 December 2024 at the age of 90 with family at his side.

Mr. Serwon served our nation in the US Navy for 24 months, from July of 1954 to July of 1956 aboard the USS Lake Champlain, an Essex Class Aircraft Carrier. He was honorably discharged 10 July 1956. For his service, Mr. Serwon was awarded; the National Defense Service Medal and Occupational Service Medal (Korea). In 1976, Edward entered the Army Reserves as a Practical Nurse, serving for 5 years. He entered the Army Reserve Development Programs and advanced to Bio Med Equipment Specialist, serving for 8 years and 4 months and earning the rank of Sergeant First Class. In 1990, Mr. Serwon was called to active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, serving from 21 November 1990 to 5 April 1991, in Southwest Asia. He was honorably discharged after 23 years of service to our nation in 1996 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.

Special Information:

Members will form flag line for arriving family and friends. Mass will begin at 10:00 am. After dignified transfer, members will escort Mr. Serwon to St Stanislaus Cemetery for military honors funeral services. Do what you can to support this honorable veteran.
