About the Mission:
The family of Korean War Era Veteran Edward E. Schubert has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Schubert of Hemlock, NY passed away on 22 August 2023 at the age of 91.
Mr. Schubert served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1952-1954. His most significant assignment was to Detachment #2 of the 9393rd Technical Service Unit (TSU) at White Sands Pioneer Group (WSPG), New Mexico. Mr. Schubert was honorably discharged from active duty on 15 November 1954 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the Army Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
In 2018 Ed and and his wife, Sally, were honored for their service as board members and their countless hours maintaining the Union Cemetery in Livonia, where PGR has stood in honor many times over the years.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand with a respectful flag line for the 2nd half of calling hours from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The funeral service and Military Honors is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
There is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for taking the time to help honor the US Army service of Edward E. Schubert, and to support his loving family.
